Policy and dates
- Policy on attendance Students are required to
attend all lectures. The penalty for unexcused absences is:

Quizzes will usually (but not always) be on Friday, and will usually
be given back within the week. Missing a quiz, or failing to collect
one, each counts as an absence.

The score on the final will replace the lower score on partial exams
if the student is in good standing, meaning: not more than two
unexcused absences, assigned work handed in, and, if applicable, a
score of at least 50% on the practice partial tests.

Exams are in class. Exam material is usually announced in class.
Exams are comprehensive, not incremental. Dates and topics supersede
any information found in the main syllabus.
