Policy and dates
- Policy on attendance   Students are required to
attend all lectures. The penalty for unexcused absences is:

There will be unannounced quizzes. In addition to giving the student
the incentive to study on a continuous basis, they allow me to record
attendance. Missing a quiz, or failing to collect one, each counts as
an absence. From Feb 6 on, the student is required to bring calculator
to class.

The score on the final will replace the lower score on partial exams
if the student is in good standing, meaning: not more than two
unexcused absences, assigned work handed in, and, if applicable, a
score of at least 50% on the practice partial tests.

Exams are in class. Exam material is usually announced in class.
Exams are comprehensive, not incremental. Dates and topics supersede
any information found in the main syllabus.
