Policy and dates
- Policy on attendance Students are required to
attend all lectures. The penalty for unexcused absences is:

There will be unannounced quizzes. In addition to giving the student
the incentive to study on a continuous basis, they allow me to record
attendance. Missing a quiz, or failing to collect one, each counts as
an absence. The student is asked to bring to class a kit of coloured
pencils, which will be used in tests and quizzes.

The score on the final will replace the lowest score on partial exams
if the student is in good standing, meaning: not more than two
unexcused absences. Added 25/08: there will be an additional condition
for ``good standing'', pertaining to performance on practice tests, if
I decide to give them.
