Policy on attendance   Students are required to attend all lectures. The fare is:

Sections meeting twice a week:

<= 2 absences:	4 pts credit (out of 100)
4-5 absences:	grade penalty
6 absences:	F on the course

Sections meeting three times a week:

<= 2 absences:	4 pts credit (out of 100)
5-7 absences:	grade penalty
8 absences:	F on the course

There will be unannounced quizzes. In addition to giving the student the incentive to study on a continuous basis, they allow me to sample attendance. Missing a quiz, or failing to collect one, each counts as an absence. The student is asked to bring to class a kit of coloured pencils (not ink pens, not highlight markers), which will be used in tests and quizzes.
