and sections 1--4. Of sections 3-4, hand in twelve problems, four of
your choice, and eight from below:
- Section 3: exercises 2, 4, 5, 13 (choose three of (a)--(e)).
- Section 4: exercises 2, 7, 12, 13(a).
Also, 2.1* of section 2. The star means you do not have to hand it in
right away, but you must show incremental progress. Starred problems
are counted as bonus.
Write up complete solutions and use pencil.

8.
- Section 5: exercises 11, 14, 17, 21.
- Section 6: exercises 1, 8, 9.
- Section 8: exercises 9, 16, 18.
- In addition to the ten problems above, choose one from each of
sections 5, 6, and two from section 8.
- Set 3
due Mar 3. Read sections 9, 10.
- Section 9: exercises 2, 6 (no calculator), 9, 10, 18.
- Section 10: exercises 2, 4, 7, 14, 15.
- In addition to these problems, choose four, at least one from
each of sections 9 and 10.
- Set 4
due Mar 10. Read sections 11, 12.
- Section 11: exercises 1(c,d,g,h,j,k), 2(same), 4, 5, 7, 8.
- Section 12: exercises 2, 3, 10, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22,
30(a,b). For 21, choose four of a--h, with at least one true and at
least two false.

due Mar 31. Read sections 14, 15.
- Section 14: exercises 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 17.
- Section 15: exercises 1, 3, 7, 10, 16.
