Policy on attendance Students are required to attend all lectures. The penalty for unexcused absences is:

2-3 absences:	grade penalty
4 absences:	F on the course

In addition to regular quizzes, I will give pop quizzes. They are the means by which I record attendance. Students may switch to another section only in an emergency; you are allowed to do this twice during the semester. Beyond this allowance, a grade penalty will apply.

Grading policy

quiz	30%
partials	36%
final	34%

I will drop one midterm score, but only if you have collected all your mid-terms by the week of finals. If you have not, I will count all three.
